One of the earliest strategic role-playing games on any console, AtardiCorp's Sword in the Ground gave players the chance to relive historic battles throughout the kingdom of the tactical genius King Saul. The object of the game was to defend Saul's territories from spear-throwing foreign soldiers, with each skirmish advancing the overly-dramatic storyline.
